Peter is an experienced professional in the construction industry with particular expertise in quantity surveying and the commercial management of contracting organisations. Skilled in claims preparation, the drafting of expert reports and the writing of contractual and commercial procedures, Peter is also an accomplished seminar presenter, contract drafter, adjudicator, and advisor on alternative dispute resolution techniques and business strategy.

Peter is a very experienced mediator and court expert with specialist knowledge of all aspects of the construction industry. He also has substantial experience in corporate recovery and restructures of businesses involved or allied to the construction industry.

He has a thorough understanding of the design and construction process and an ability to lead successful contract negotiations at a senior level, involving both technical and commercial issues.

Worked as a consultant for a wide variety of clients, preparing and negotiating contractual claims with emphasis on quantum, planning and extension of time, writing contractual and commercial procedures manuals, preparing expert reports for litigation and arbitration, vetting contracts and drafting suitable amendments, administering and preparing cases for adjudication, reporting to lending institutions on corporate recovery and business restructures.

Lee is a Chartered Builder and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 24 years’ experience in the Building and Civil Engineering sectors. A specialist in final accounts and valuation issues ranging from disruption loss and/or expense to claims for extensions of time. Lee has acted for Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors as Referring and Responding party in Adjudications, and has assisted in numerous Expert Witness commissions both UK and International. Lee has also been instructed by solicitors to act as Quantum Expert. Lee has spent considerable time working abroad on site in Expert Advisory Roles on major power generation schemes in South Africa and an LNG Gas Terminal Project in Europe. Lee has also worked on major transportation projects in the Republic of Ireland and Belgium.

Ian – who has 26 years’ experience in the Invoice Finance market - joined the Business in February with the objective to work alongside the Directors to add strategic input into TVP's future development, with particular focus on the Financial Services sector. Chris Duffill, Director at TVP said the appointment forms part of TVP’s significant expansion strategy. He said: “Ian is an experienced senior executive with a history of success. I’m delighted to welcome him to TVP. “This is a key appointment and having someone of Ian’s calibre will undoubtedly help us to take our business to the next level and further enhance the vital support we can provide to funders across the Financial Services sector and also to Businesses in the UK.” Ian said: “TVP who over the years have undertaken work for a number of IF/ABL’s clearly has ambitious plans to take this to the next stage and are looking to play an increasingly important role in supporting funders to better understand “Contractual” Debt. For this reason, it will undoubtedly be an exciting place to be and I’m very much looking forward to working with the wider TVP team.” Ian joined BFS in 2014 and was a member of the UK Board, prior to that he had been with Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance since 1992, being appointed to the Board as an executive director in 1997. Over the past 26 years he has held a variety of senior leadership roles, leading national sales and client management teams across the IF/ABL market, as well as having responsibility for both BFS’s and Lloyds HP and Leasing businesses. Chris joined Vinden in 2003 to set up and develop a Building Surveying department within the company. Chris is an experienced Building Surveyor, with particular expertise in structural and defect diagnosis and safety, health and environment issues. Chris also has considerable experience of the investigation, negotiation and resolution of technical and construction related claims and preparation of expert witness reports for litigation or dispute resolution procedures and protocols.

Andy is a chartered building surveyor with a wide breadth of experience in both the public and private sector. Experienced in the Party Wall etc Act 1996 and a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. Andy has a particular interest in building defect diagnosis and holds the Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence accredited by Pearson Learning - Edexcel at a level 7 (Masters level) and able to act as Expert Witness in all building surveying matters.

Andy also has considerable experience in the project management and reinstatement of both major loss and high net worth commercial and domestic properties following an insured peril, Andy is competent to administer formal building contracts and fully manage the reinstatement process.

Karen heads up our Corporate Recovery team which has the expertise to review and advise companies on how best to negotiate their way out of the many difficult circumstances that are becoming increasingly more prevalent. The Corporate Recovery team is highly specialised in working alongside Insolvency Practitioners on construction industry related cases, providing professional advice and assistance in order to maximise realisations for the benefit of all concerned.

Mark is equally at home working on private or public sector projects with ranging values up to £150m and these can either be individual projects or multi-facetted development projects with multi stakeholder involvement. Mark understands how a friendly approach, with good communication and attention to detail feeds into a successful project.

Tracy has over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry, working initially as a main contractor QS, setting up and running a contracting business for 15 years, working within a large PLC providing both commercial and operational leadership and since 2011 working at Vinden with both the corporate recovery and dispute resolution teams. As part of her role Tracy provides ad hoc commercial and contractual advice to a varied portfolio of clients . She has an understanding of contracting at all levels, predominantly from a commercial and contractual perspective, but also from an organisational and operational viewpoint. Her ability to appraise a set of circumstances, cut through to the key issues and communicate at all levels has led to repeat commissions on a variety of matters. Tracy is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, has a degree in law and is currently working towards the RICS Diploma In Adjudication.

Peter also undertakes many Capital Allowance assessments for various clients.

Philip has over 34 years experience in the construction industry. He is a qualified chartered quantity surveying and also has a master’s degree in construction law. Philip has been employed in senior commercial positions at large and small, international and regional building and construction companies. He has also headed-up his own consultancy organisation and represented a wide variety of clients, preparing contractual claims in application requests or defences to quantum claims for time and/or money. Philip regularly represents clients in adjudication, arbitration and mediation proceedings and has been appointed expert witness and joint expert for quantum matters on numerous occasions in litigation proceedings. Philip was awarded the President’s Prize from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for the best Arbitration Award writing in 2014.

As an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety, Justin provides assistance to clients and principal designers on their duties under the CDM2015 regulations.

Janet is a well-known member of the property sector and for a number of years she was Chair of the National Association of Women in Construction, an organisation set up specifically to support women entering the industry.

He has extensive experience of both pre and post contract construction works on health, custodial, industrial, education, retail and general building works. He uses his knowledge of the construction process and procedures, the law and contracts to advise clients on risk within contracts and financial reporting in both day to day operations and dispute resolution. Providing Commercial Management of Pre and Post Contract M&E works for Sub Contractors, Main contractors and private practice. Risk management of contracts prior to signature and advice on procedures for managing projects. In addition, representing parties in referral of and defence of any adjudications.

Helen has over 20 years’ experience as a planner on a wide variety of projects ranging from £8 to £200 million for new build, refurbishment, civil engineering and rail contracts, including PPP & PFI. Working both directly and as a consultant to clients and contractor, Helen’s experience enables her to offer a wide range of planning services, from implementation of planning systems, pre & post contract planning and ADR. Helen’s particular expertise is in forensic planning for the application and defence of extension of time claims. Drawing on her industry experience her approach ensures claims are relevant and concise and avoids theoretic presentation, an approach she adopts in proactive programme management to avoid disputes in the first place, whilst recognising entitlement to EOT.
